I'm even older than you and went through a prolonged raging Feminist phase. Now that I am older and wiser, I channel that passion into things that really help people. I realize that I am incredibly privileged, but i am not superhuman. I just try to use my position to throw that one starfish I can help back into the ocean. (I'm sure you've heard that old story.)This is a project I am currently pushing in my middle class suburban church.(Average by U.S. standards, but incredibly wealthy by world standards)http://www.covchurch.org/women/departmental-ministries/annual-project/break-the-chains-a-call-to-commitment. We must keep the faith, because we have the position to think about others and not where our next meal is coming from. But just because were blessed doen't give us the power to change everything, just the power to change some small thing each day.
