What a super idea.

This is really interesting to me, because at OSU we're setting up a presentation to academic advisors on Facebook & Second LIfe.

It's the same problem, really, connecting a "broader" social network (Facebook is used often, but for a shorter term) to a "deeper" social network (in SL we're on longer, become more involved).

I probably haven't expressed this properly, maybe because I'm still thinking it through.

Happy New Year, Fleep

The empty spaces thing bothers me too - almost as much as how I bring together all the bits of my life into one place (and if I should). Can I have a copy of the script in progress for us to try too? Thankyou - and happy new year :)

That's a great idea. Part of what makes Twitter so interesting is that the content is both public and persistent. Nice work in bringing that into Second Life!

This reminds me of what a social media analyst/marketer Alisa Leonard-Hansen calls data portability or a decentralized, socially contextual Web experience. A way to provide multiple touch points to connect all social nets wherever a person goes.

Interesting idea! I can't wait to hear how people react to the inworld Twittering. If it alleviates the feelings of "emptiness".
(I'd love to see the script if you don't mind, didn't even know of an OS Twitter script!)
